Coffee has a long-established tradition in Vienna and so has our company. It was founded in 1929 by Karl SACHERS. With ups and downs it was totally demolished during World War II. Then in addition it was located in the Russian zone of Vienna. So there was some long time when absolutely nothing happened.
Karl SACHERS, father of today's owner, started again in the Fifties. 1956 the brand-name STAMBULIA was established. July 1, 1970 Helmut SACHERS took over this very small company. Within some years STAMBULIA was pushed to a well-known brand-name for Cafés and Restaurants in Austria. In the early Eighties we started under our family-name SACHERS in the retail-business and in addition to STAMBULIA also in the catering-business. Within a little bit more than a decade we built a very well-known business all over Austria.
On January 1, 1972 we bought the first coffee-company: Arian. By now we bought various small coffee-companies: Campos, Burkert, Sombrero, Peru, Morenita, Angola, Stemhoff, Werner, Veith.
We work with our own distribution as well as with wholesalers, agents and other distributors. About 15 years ago we started our machine-branch. To serve our customers better we nowadays deal in grinders, espresso-machines, whippers, dishwashers etc. We represent well known brands such as “Rossi”, “Brasilia”, “Promac” and “Black & White”.
Also in the Eighties we began exporting our ORIGINAL HELMUT SACHERS COFFEE first to Germany, further on to Canada, the US and many more.
To serve better to our German customers we established our German subsidiary in Bavaria.
Today we are exporting to approx. 30 countries worldwide and are one of the most successful and highly renowned exporters of roasted coffee in Austria.
Thanks to the full aroma and fine flavor of our freshly roasted blends our company became synonymous the art for making good coffee. We continue to maintain this tradition and to keep our established reputation.
